How do I move to America

How do I move to America?
I am currently 16 years old,so I am still young, but I am just wondering what I have to do to move to America? I was born and live in Bulgaria, but it sucks here, and I don't think I have a future in this country. So let's say,I buy a ticket to somewhere in America and then what? I should find a hotel,a job? What should I do?

You have to be at least 18 years or older to start filling out the N400 citizenship application and have to have a valid green card. I'd suggest start saving up your money in the meantime. You could also serve in the US military to increase your chances. I'm not sure if that's your thing but it's still an option.

No, you can not just get on a plane and legally move to America. You need a college degree in a profession that is in high demand and on top of that be very good in that profession. You do not apply for a work visa, your employer does. My advice is look into the jobs that American companies are interested in and get a degree in one of those. Although, your chances are still not high and even if you qualified, you would need years of experience in your job. So even if you get the job after college you will need to wait a few years and gain experience. Don't expect if for at least another 15 years.

You must be at least 18 and apply for the diversity Lottery program. You must register 2years ahead of time, then, when the lottery is held, if you are chosen, it will take about 2 more years to get your visa..... IF you are selected. Millions apply, about 50,000 a year are chosen. See site below.

I am the same age and I moved to America from Bulgaria when I was 9, but I remember that we won the lottery first for a visa. The only other way to get a visa is if you have a family member living in America, then they can send a letter to the embassy requesting one. After you obtain a visa, then you could get a ticket. I would recomend waiting until you are 18 though, because there is not much you can do here in America without a parent or legal guardian until that age. When we first came to America we stayed in a hotel for months and my parents got jobs, then we moved to an appartment and a couple years later to a house. I know how life must be for you back in Bulgaria but once you come here you still have to work your way up, unless you come with a lot of money. Успех!

Unless you are independently wealthy or have family who will sponsor you as an immigrant you will need a job + a work visa to move to the USA. You need a sponsor (employer) for a work visa - you can't apply for one on your own. http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_1750.html Check with US companies in your country and local companies with offices in the USA. For example, Hilton and Marriott hire international staff as interns. Search "international exchange programs USA" and there should be many links to programs that offer temporary and seasonal work in the US. Examples: http://www.ccusa.com/country.aspx http://www.yummyjobs.com/ http://www.bunac.org/ Do carefully check any programs you might be interested in as not all of them are a good deal. Another option is to go to school in the USA. It is much easier to get a US student visa that to get a work visa and you MAY be able to work on-campus. Having a USA university diploma or certificate will make applying for jobs easier, and going to school in the US will help you decide if you really want to move here. http://www.collegesintheusa.com/ If you decide to go to university in the USA the first step is to identify several schools you might want to attend and make contact with their offices of international students For example: http://global.tulane.edu/oiss/ http://oiss.uno.edu/ Good luck!?
