Can you becme a police officer under the age of 21

Can you becme a police officer under the age of 21?
I am 19 and trying to persue this career path bu cannot find a county that excepts 18+ applicants. i also live in Kansas so does anyone know where i can apply?

Yes, you can, I am not sure of the counties but it is definitely possible

20 and 6 months is a minimum age of a police cadet. It is only because you need to carry a firearm and 21 is the minimum age to have a firearm. there are exceptions but police usually require 21.

I don't know of any departments that allow you to be an office under the age of 21. However, you could apply to be a jailer, kind of get your foot in the door. Good luck

The only place I know that you can do that is if you join the military. You can be a military police officer at the age of 18.

This depends on your state. I do know of departments that will hire officers that are under 21, but they are few and far between. There are no federal laws on this or carrying guns under 21 so this is state by state. Many police departments in my part of the country (NY) require some college or military. You should be taking college classes to make yourself more competitive.
