How is it living in Bulgaria for a young family

How is it living in Bulgaria for a young family?
I am seeking a promotion in my job but it will represent moving to Bulgaria, to the Stara Zagora region. My wife and I speak english but that is not our native language. We have two small children. We are concern about: The possibilities to communicate in english in Bulgaria. The quality of schools where our children will study. The quality of doctors and medical services we will use. The criminality of the area. The discrimination to foreigners. I have read in the internet about the peace of living in Bulgaria, and the advantages of it in becoming part of the EU, but I would like to hear more about these specific topics. I will appreciate your comments.

Bulgaria is a very poor country, even though there is chance to be part of the UN.There is no Chance your children to communicate in English with anybody.Every body learn English at school but is still different. If you have good salary you are going to live good, otherwise you are not going to have money for anything, just for food. There is no discrimination to foreigners, sometimes you can meet suspicious people. The doctors and the medical services are very good. The schools are good9your children know Bulgarian right?).Stara zagora is not very big city but it is easy to live there.Good Luck with your new life!

It is realy poor, but this for foreigners means also very cheap. With some good connections to the natives - can be very friendly if you ask in the Chamber of commerce first or other oficial place, you can easily find some friendly au-pair to stay and teach your children English at home. Some Kindergarten have English too. Just do not show how much money do you have realy and you can get realy nice life there.
