What's so good about weed

What's so good about weed?
The amount of people who like weed on Yahoo!Answers astonishes me. I live in Bulgaria and here only misguided teenagers and drug addicts smoke pot but on Y!A most people seem to be "oh, it's not damaging to the body. " , "oh, it should be legal." etc. Perhaps someone would like to enlighten me as to why pot is so great? Because I have no idea.

I have always wondered the same thing! I've never done drugs so I guess I wouldn't know, but...I've seen people who are on them and end up ruining their life. Yeah maybe they think it's "fun" but I fail to see how screwing your life up is fun.

when people drink, they get violent and brings out the worst in people, not even mentioning the damage it does to your liver. I smoke weed occasionally, I do not sell and i'm not a heavy smoker, and don't smoke tobacco alone, it's relaxing and cathartic and makes you feel good. When smoking with friends you enjoy each others company, and get very cuddly and loving. I am all for legalizing cannabis

If you live in Bulgaria, How did your question pop up since I have my settings on USA questions only? Pot is making a big comeback in the USA. It must be good for you or the doctors wouldn't prescribe it to their patients. A lot of older adults are starting to smoke pot again after the kids grow up and move out. God is great man is not man made beer god made pot. I am NOT for legalizing weed. If it was legal the price would skyrocket like in California. Right now I am selling green bud for $150 ounce. If it was legal it would go for twice that much at the drug store.

It's fine in small amounts, just like alcohol. The majority of users take it in moderation, people who become addicted overdo it. I don't take the stuff myself, these are just my observations. If it were legal it would increase government revenue and free up police time for more serious crimes. There was a time when doctors would recommend cigarettes to their patients, and smoking used to be allowed in hospitals. There's no comparison there really, I'm pointing out how times and tolerance levels change.

Well, first of all, you have to consider the fact that we are all going to die one day. Yes, it damages the body, but so do most of the things we do. Not getting sufficient sleep damages the body. Listening to loud music damages the eardrums, which can lead to bad depth perception and equilibrium. Not wearing sunglasses can damage the eyes. No matter what we do we are putting constant wear and tear on our bodies. The length of a person's life is not always of the greatest value to a person. People have different values. In other words, a person could spend every moment of their life trying to keep their body from perishing but death is inevitable. They could live 120 years. But would most people really want to spend every waking hour analyzing every little action to ensure it was the most beneficial in prolonging their life? Honestly, after we die, I really doubt we are concerned with the length of time we lived, but rather the quality of our lives. Whether or not it should be legal is another issue. As far as it being legal I do not have an opinion. The opinion of whether or not it should be legal is wrapped up in whether or not it will open up people to other drugs or the violence associated with the need to supply an expensive addiction. The problem with that though is that many people create violence for everyday addictions. For example, fashion. Fashion is an addiction and people get violent when they cannot afford the clothing they want. Take a look at gangs. They engage in crime to make money to fuel their addiction for money. One reason I can see people having a problem with marijuana is that it can make people less productive in society. That is sort of selfish though. I mean, who is to say that our purpose in life is to fuel a corporate machine? Who is to say that the purpose of our life is to fulfill peoples dreams of race cars and advanced technology that can fly into outer space? Are not people allowed to choose their own purpose in life? I do not see anything wrong with a person deciding that is how they want to live their life. There is nothing wrong or dumb about it. People think they are "wasting" or "ruining" their life because they have an idea of "how life is supposed to be" and "what is normal". How do you know that you are not ruining your life? I think that is the universal question. What if the purpose of life is to enjoy it any way you see fit, as long as it is not harming others? And what if our attempt for survival in outer space is just a waste of time because there is life after death? Homosexuality and bisexuality is a good example of this. Previously, society made homosexuals out to be heathens. They considered them to be "misguided" like you are saying. But that is only because they compared homosexual lifestyle to their own. Once a person does this they lose sight of the fact that there is no one way to live life and that our opinion on things is not the only one. Truly, the universe does not revolve around us. I think people need to start questioning their own beliefs about life and stop accepting their feelings as universal truth. The reason a lot of people like marijuana is because they trip out, laugh, have fun, and helps them sleep. A lot of marijuana users I know are not drug addicts and they only smoke weed. People with addictive personalities become addicts. Drugs do not make us addicts. The question here is, "what is a misguided youth?" Who exactly is misguided? The people who work their entire life to achieve material success? The people who live a corporate lifestyle? The people who live in shacks and play with sticks? People who have low standards or no long term goals? The truth is a person who picks one out of there is misguided, because everyone values different things in life. A person cannot fit everyone into one category. There is no right or wrong way to live life. There is just personal preference. Instead of trying to make people live life our way we should let them live their lives their way. I do what makes me happy and others do what makes them happy. In the end, whatever makes us happy makes us happy.
