It depends on your lifestyle, really. But, since you asked this in the Netherlands section, chances are limited of you getting an answer. Try Bulgaria section, or General Travel.

It depends on whether you're living in a hotel or renting an apartment. Again, there are different types of hotels and their prices range from around 20-100 euro a night. You should look up their exact prices on a travel site like www.expedia.com or www.priceline.com. As for apartments, I'd say you can get a nice, small apartment in the center of Sofia (neighborhoods like Lozenetz, Ivan Vazov, etc) for a good 150-200 euro a month. Don't worry about food. If you eat out at restaurants, a nice 3-course meal will cost you no more than 10 euro at a pretty good restaurant. Have fun!
