Hi from Bulgaria. Yes it is good and cheap English people to live in Bulgaria Here are very cheap prices to houses here. In the villages you can buy house between 10000-30000 euro. Here is very beautifully nature . Close to the sea is more expensive and you can find villas for 150.000-250.000 euro. Only problem here is Gypsies mostly in the villages , They are very big criminals and you have to watch if you will buy house in village to be this village without Gypsies. Attention!! half of villages close to sea cost are full with Gypsies. But normally British people here fill here very well. Most important for you is very cheap life, quiet, very beautifully nature. With 1000 pounds here your family will live like king family. Here you can make farm and you can earn big money from export.

Bulgarians are generally friendly and laid back people. There really is no way to describe the whole society without being stereotypical. People there are particularly educated but have had a hard life -- the fall of communism in 1989, later the economic depression and unemployment, etc. Most young people nowadays live in the cities, and have parents/grandparents that live in small villages on the outskirts of cities where they raise animals and grow vegetables. Bulgarians like to drink in moderation and don't get drunk, meaning that they'll have a beer or a "rakia" (type of brandy) with their salad. The cuisine in Bulgaria is phenomenal -- a mix of Mediterranean, Turkish, Middle Eastern and Russian. If you don't speak Bulgarian, you should befriend Bulgarians as quickly as possible so that you can go around town with them for a while. Otherwise, places like restaurants, taxis, and hotels will take advantage of you and tell you to pay more. This isn't that significant, generally, but there's a double standard. Overall, Bulgaria is a great place to visit/live! Have fun!
